The Vineyard Hotel’s tenth annual series of “Tastes” wine-paired dinners is well underway, and on Friday, 20 May they will be hosting an evening with Mulderbosch.
Adam Mason, master wine maker at Mulderbosch, is looking forward to showing off some of the estate’s most notable collections, as well as their single vineyard chenins.
Wine guide author John Platter has referred to the Mulderbosch Sauvignon Blanc as “South Africa’s most celebrated Sauvignon,” with the rest of the estate’s portfolio made up of high-quality wines. These include their Faithful Hound Bordeaux-style blend, a varietal Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé, a barrel fermented and lightly wooded style of Chardonnay, a Chenin Blanc sourced from predominantly old bush vines and a decadent Nobel Late Harvest.
Before each of the “Tastes of 2016” dinners, the chefs and F&B team at Vineyard Hotel get together with the winemakers to execute a vigorous food and wine-pairing process. This is very much a combined effort that ensures the final menu is a delicious selection of dishes that perfectly complement the selected wines.
